The UNESCO Collective Healing Circles (CHCs) Capacity-Building for Facilitators is designed to support and nurture experienced facilitators who have interest in hosting UNESCO CHCs in local communities impacted by the histories transatlantic slavery, colonialism and the genocide of indigenous people, and the continued legacies of injustice.

The capacity building programme will enable local partners to host safe, courageous and caring spaces for CHCs and support local facilitators to play a significant role in co-creating and offering contextualised and tailored CHCs to meet the community’s needs.

Spaces for collaborative reflection will be integrated to accompany the CHCs, and to draw upon the programme’s impact and practices. It will also provide opportunities for facilitators to share experiences and learn from each other. Ultimately, this will contribute to the establishment of a global community of CHC practice and offer insights and recommendations for more communities to embark on collective healing journeys.

All facilitators will be provided with programme handbooks and ongoing mentoring. Stipends are available to cover the costs of hosting collective healing circles.
